Boardwalk at Garfield Parkway
Bethany Beach, Delaware 19930

Organizers of the 2009 Bethany Beach Boardwalk Arts Festival say this year's festival will be the largest ever held. The Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce’s (BFACC) award-winning annual festival is scheduled for Saturday, September 12th, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and features 110 artists working in jewelry, art glass, pottery, watercolor and oil painting, basketry, woodworking, and much more!

This year’s show will be the biggest ever held, thanks to a larger pool of applicants, and strong support from the Town of Bethany Beach. The show will include three street festival areas with entertainment -- at Second Street, Garfield Parkway and Parkwood Street.

“There is a tremendous mix of styles and media among this year’s artists, and the quality of the works submitted with their applications has us very excited about the artists coming to Bethany Beach this September,” said BFACC Executive Director Andrew Cripps. The work of each artist is reviewed by a jury comprised of objective art professionals from the Delmarva region before being accepted into the festival.

Artists’ displays will stretch the entire length of the boardwalk, from Second Street at the north to Parkwood St. at the south. Live entertainers will perform in street festival areas at each end, as well as at the boardwalk bandstand at Garfield Parkway. Local non-profit organizations will also showcase their causes at booths along the boardwalk.

Sponsors of the 2009 Bethany Beach Boardwalk Arts Festival include ResortQuest, PNC Bank, the Coastal Point, and Delaware Today magazine. Logistical support is provided by the Town of Bethany Beach. Additional sponsorships are available. For more information contact the BFACC at 302-539-2100.

In case of inclement weather, the festival will be held on Sunday, September 13, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
