Best Practices in Networking for Career Success January 19, 2012

The start of a new year is the time many people consider their future and careers. However, after the recent periods of economic instability and high unemployment, many employees, consultants and managers have resigned themselves to 'sticking it out' in their current role - even when unhappy.

By developing effective networking skills and contacts, this can be the year you take some chances, expand your horizons and move forward in new ways for career success. Whether you are seeking a promotion, a new role or new clients, this hands-on event will provide you with a format to develop and adapt your personal value proposition (elevator speech) and techniques to gain greater benefit from networking events. We will also cover ways to integrate social media into your networking plan for long term career success.

This interactive workshop will be led by GABA's HR-SIG Jennifer Vessels and will be a pre-cursor to Job Hunting for Success led by Jennifer's co-chair EJ Dieterle later in the spring of 2012. Both Jennifer and EJ have over 30 years experience helping individuals move into more satisfying careers as well as practical tips for moving into the ideal professional role and career.
