Giavis's paintings in this exhibit include two from a series of Golden Gloves paintings: At the Golden Gloves in 1992 and Strategy for the Fight. The Gaslight Building and Lowell Tenements show his love for Lowell architecture. A favorite is his painting of Mr. Nick Thomas, a pleasant Lowell gentleman who is no longer with us but lives on in Giavis's memory. Vassilios Giavis, a well-known figure in Lowell, spent many of his early years working at his family's business, Giavis Market. He is a painter and illustrator of historical sites, diners, people, and cityscapes.
