Join the GJSO as they perform music from French composers Fauré, Poulenc, and Berlioz. Fauré’s Pavane references Spanish court dances while simultaneously capturing the mood of La Belle Époque. Fauré heavily influenced the French composer’s group, “Les Six,” which included forward-thinking musician and composer Francis Poulenc, whose Concerto in D minor for Two Pianos will feature local pianists Andrea Arese-Elías and Gisela Flanigan. Hector Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique will conclude the performance, featuring insight into the life of an artist. One of the most popular pieces in the symphonic repertoire, it is sure to excite and inspire!
