The first full-length original musical by award winning Berkeley Playhouse Music Director, Phil Gorman and his writing partner, Lila Tschappat (Bravado), Adventures in Terraleauferia, premiered at The Peabody Museum in New Haven, CT, in 2001. An environmental epic, this fantasy tells the story of two children, Andy and Samanda and their spunky grandmother, Rose traveling through a magical dishwasher to a parallel universe where they have to battle with the Elements for survival. In this parallel universe, the elements Earth, Air, Fire, and Water rule, but our actions affect their world - the environmental neglect and pollution on OUR planet is destroying THEIRS, including all of the magnificent Terraleauferian creatures. Grandma Rose who has the ability to see into Terraleauferia, rallies her grandkids to help stop the disaster. The portal - the dishwasher! Through it they spin on an adventure to find the Elemental Rulers who are angry with humans for our poor treatment of all habitats. Grandma is kidnapped by a band of pirates and Andy and Samanda are left to their own devices to rescue Grandma and, well, save the world. They meet talking ferns, dwarves, elves, water nymphs, fire demons, and air fairies, but it's not all smooth sailing....

Will they find the Rulers fast enough to discuss solutions, or will it be too late? And will Grandma stay in Terraleauferia forever?

Adventures in Terraleauferia will be performed by students, Grades, 4-10 who are participating in our five week music theatre performance camp.
