Berkeley Cybersalon presents Dan Miller August 18, 2009

Dan Miller -- managing director of The Roda Group, which was a primary investor in Ask.com way back when -- will speak about "A Really Inconvenient Truth: Why Climate Change Is Much Worse Than You've Been Told and What We Must Do Now." Coming from the perspective of an engineer, Miller's interest in climate change began in the mid 90's when he read the 1880's prediction by Svant Arrhenius, a Swedish chemist and Nobel Laureate, that the earth would warm because of mankind's release of carbon dioxide. After explaining why climate change is a bigger problem than we think, Miller will talk about the opportunities -- including green technologies -- that can be created and deployed to address what looks like a quick end to the world as we know it.
