Bergen Bike Tour September 27, 2009

The Bergen Bike Tour is a fun-filled, family-oriented event that annually raises funds for Tomorrows Children’s Fund and The Volunteer Center of Bergen County.

The Bergen Bike Tour is coordinated by a team of volunteers from the business, legal and medical professions who have one goal: to give back to the community in which they live and work. All funds raised stay local and, because most of the work is done by volunteers, administrative expenses are kept to a bare minimum. The dollars raised go directly to Tomorrows Children’s Fund and the Volunteer Center of Bergen County.

Individuals and families are invited to ride one of three routes (10 mile, 25 mile or 50 mile) through some of Bergen County’s most scenic areas.

Each tour begins with breakfast for the riders. After the ride cyclists, their friends and families are invited to join a home-cooked picnic plus a wide array of activities on the spacious grounds of Darlington Park: music, games, clowns - and prizes galore! Registered massage therapists will be on hand to relive cyclists’ tired muscles.

All riders age 16 and older are required to turn in a minimum of $100 per rider in sponsorship pledges prior to or at the event. All riders who turn in the minimum of $100 in pledges by the day of the event will receive a Bergen Bike Tour t-shirt and goody bag at registration. Riders may continue to fundraise after the event – all pledges are due by November 13, 2009 to be eligible for more prizes.

You can register to ride in the Bergen Bike Tour in one of four ways:

4. Register in person at the event. Pay by cash, check or credit card.

Registration Fees:
Adult age 16 and up: $35 ($40 after Sept. 18)
Youth age 8-16: $15 (no increase after Sept. 18)
Child age 8 and under: FREE
Non-cyclists for picnic only: $5
