409 Railroad Avenue
Danville, California 94526

Who: Benjamin Mee & Gary Bogue

What: In conversation, discussing and signing their books We Bought a Zoo (Mee) and A Raccoon Next Door (Bogue)

When: Friday, 19 September 2008 at 7 PM

How much: $6 -- proceeds benefit the education programs of the Oakland Zoo. Advance purchase is suggested.

Why you should care: Benjamin Mee's amazing true story of a young family, a broken down zoo, and the 200 wild animals that change their lives forever is one of the most delightful books of the fall season. When I was thinking about how I wanted to structure this event, it occured to me that the Contra Costa Times' beloved columnist (and founder of the Lindsay Junior Museum) Gary Bogue would be the perfect partner in a special evening's conversation. Bonus #1 -- we'll be serving refreshments. Bonus #2 -- ticket proceeds will benefit our own local zoo -- the Oakland Zoo!
