Benefit for Typhoon Ondoy victims in the Philippines October 6, 2009

Death toll: 280 and rising
Residents displaced: almost 1,000,000
Manila and surrounding areas received double the amount of rain that Hurricane Katrina produced.
Filipinos are now preparing in a different area of the Philippines for yet another storm.

Basketball courts have been converted into a mortuary; the other half is sleeping space for some left homeless by the storm. Filipinos in and around Manila are in urgent need of monetary donations as well as clothes, medicine, and supplies, and have appealed to other countries for foreign aid.

This is your opportunity to help those who are in urgent need! Donate, chat w/fellow yelpers and non-yelpers alike, and toast to a good cause w/a few delicious cocktails like the lychee or pomegranate martini!
