Bellydance Day Workshops and Show August 22, 2009

Shimmy, zill and undulate in the East Bay's very own Bellydance Day on Saturday August 22, 2009. Celebrate the beauty and artistry of the Oriental dance form. Enjoy a full day of dance workshops and an evening of Bellydance splendor in the extravaganza show featuring award winning performances.

Mixed level workshops begin at 10am and range in a variety of subjects from abdominal techniques to finger cymbals in addition to a stage make up 101 class that will teach you how to create a smoky 'Oriental Eye'. Workshops take place at Shabnam Bellydance Studio located at 454 Santa Clara Ave in the Lake Merritt district in Oakland.

The Bellydance Extravaganza Showcase will be held at Rhythmix Cultural Works in Alameda and begins at 7pm. All ages are welcome - $15 in advance.
