We don't usually consider concerts that cost more that $15, but we'll make a special exception for Belle and Sebastian. Their sound, 60s folk-pop, and demeanor, just plain giddy. Eventhough the venue doesn't lend to it, make sure you get up and dance to this ensemble's radiant tunes. $35, www.othermusic.com

for $35, be sure not to skip on the openers, ladies' cello society rasputina, who sing about the donner party, the triangle factory fire, leechwives, and do mean covers (real covers, not just remakes) of "why don't you do right?" and "you don't own me".
