Vpstart Crow Productions, a professional theatre company in residence at The Cramer Center, announced today the fourth production of its 2005 season: John Van Druten?s classic American comedy, Bell, Book and Candle, October 7 ? 23, 2005 at the restored church-turned-theatre in Old Town Manassas, VA.

Bell, Book and Candle, first performed on Broadway in 1950 and followed by a popular 1958 movie starring Jimmy Stewart and Kim Novak, tells the tale of Gillian, a New York City practicing witch who casts a love spell over the unsuspecting Shepherd Henderson. But Gillian becomes entangled in her own spell, which threatens to cause a loss of all her powers if she falls in love. Her lovable Aunt Queenie meddles and muddles about in Gillian?s ?bewitched? relationship, while her wacky warlock brother Nicky courts disaster by co-authoring a tell-all book on black magic with tipsy author Sidney Redlitch.
