To mark the close of the 2010 Flatpack Festival, Ghost Box will be providing a night of nostalgic soundscapes and haunting visuals at Vivid.

The evening will comprise of transmissions from Belbury TV, including a 1974 Play for Today called Penda’s Fen. The tale, set in the Malverns, is about a confused and passionate teenager whose supernatural visions are fuelled by Elgar and Anglo-Saxon mythology. There will also be a screening of Julian House’s Winter Sun Wavelength, a 20-minute film with a new score by the Focus Group and Belbury Poly.

Later, the space will be transformed for an evening of psych, folk, soundtracks, radiophonics and cosmic disco with DJs from the Focus Group and Belbury Poly.
Squelchy synths and clattering breakbests will be provided by Moon Wiring Club as well as an array of clips for the visually undernourished. There will also be an exhibition of art and artifacts by Julian House, graphic designer and Ghost Box co-founder who has designed album covers for bands such as Oasis, Prodigy, Broadcast, Sterolab and Razorlight.
