SF specialty clothing store, Wilkes Bashford, welcomes celebrated New York fashion designer, Behnaz Sarafpour’s at an in-store event benefiting First Lady Jennifer Siebel Newsom’s documentary film “Miss Representation.” Sarafpour will visit the store to share her new designs for women with Wilkes Bashford shoppers during a day-long trunk show that includes light refreshments. A portion of the proceeds from the trunk show sales will be donated to support “Miss Representation.”

Behnaz Sarafpour attended Parsons School of Design, where she was awarded the Golden Thimble Award. Behnaz is a three time nominee for the CFDA's Swarovski Perry Ellis Award best new talent in women’s ready to wear as well as a member of the CFDA. Today Behnaz continues to push her variety of fashion forward; her collections are the epitome of modern elegance.

“Miss Representation” (www.missrepresentation.org) is a documentary film that explores women’s under representation in positions of power and influence in America by challenging the limited portrayal of women as encouraged by the mainstream media. The production and distribution of the film is part of a social outreach campaign built upon the movement for women’s empowerment and leadership.
