Get started on learning Java, the first “cross platform” programming language. UNM Continuing Education is offering Beginning Java on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-9pm, March 29, 2010-April 21, 2010. The most popular programming language according to developer.com, Java is also the most pervasive, running on the majority of desktop, servers, PDAs, and cell phones. Learn from the “ground up”, covering topics like classpath, compiling and running java applications, object oriented design, and basic statements to get you started. This class uses NetBeans as its IDE, and the Sun Microsystems J2SE 1.4.2 as the compiler and runtime environment, but illustrates that any system can be paired with Java. Tuition is $695 and the class will be held in UNM Continuing Education’s South Building at 1634 University Blvd. NE. For more information, contact Miranda Fischer, Program Coordinator at 505-277-6033, e-mail [email protected], or visit dce.unm.edu.
