This introductory class will acquaint students with the basics of bird watching, including how to find and identify birds, how to select and use binoculars, and what birds can be expected in the different habitats of southeast Texas in each season. Participants will learn techniques to identify all the common species, including by call, and discover ways to attract birds to their yard. This class is open to anyone over the age of 10, and family participation is encouraged. The class is accompanied by a field trip to Brazos Bend State Park Saturday, January 15.
