Beekeeping and Honey Spinning Workshop and Benefit for Homeward Bound September 30, 2012

Homeward Bound of Marin and the Marin Bee Company invite you to a two-part BEEKEEPING WORKSHOP AND BENEFIT for Homeward Bound.

PART ONE: INTRODUCTION TO BACKYARD BEEKEEPING -10 a.m. to noon. This lively hands-on presentation will introduce you to the wonderful hobby of backyard beekeeping. We'll discuss the 12-month cycle of keeping bees, with all the equipment needed on hand for you to see and touch. We conclude by visiting Homeward Bound hives.

PART TWO: INTRODUCTION TO HONEY SPINNING - 1- 3 p.m. Come prepared to get sticky and try your hand at harvesting honey. After seeing the hives, we'll demonstrate how to uncap honeycomb, spin and bottle honey. Everyone gets a taste!
