Beat Tree: A performance that blends
contemporary and traditional dance,
music, spoken word and theatre, with
music ranging from Hip Hop and Latin
to African and Didgeridoo.

Beat Tree marks the debut of a diverse collaboration between four choreographers who, recognizing African dance as the mother of all dance, create a new movement vocabulary that incorporates elements of contemporary
and traditional dance styles. The choreography and prose in Beat Tree speaks directly to our cultural history and our immediate experiences.
