gandhi urged us to "be the change [we] want to see in the world," while the buddha reminded us that "everything changes; nothing remains without change…."

how can our practice provide us with the tools to both create the change we want to manifest, and accept the change that is an inevitable part of life? as we gather together to welcome the new year and celebrate the passage of the old, we’ll reflect on these questions and more, through a practice that simultaneously encourages turning inward, while opening outwardly to grace. we’ll begin our time together with some yin postures to open the body’s deeper tissues and stimulate the heart meridian, followed by some guided journaling and reflection. we’ll then move toward a slow, flowing practice designed to enliven the heart chakra and prepare us to move with intention into the new year. suitable for all levels. please bring a journal or notebook.
