In honor of Black History Month, the chosen films will focus on the political and social psychology of the African American community. Enjoy the triumphs and mishaps at a historically black college in Spike Lee's 'School Daze'; then face the controversy and passion of 'Malcolm X', whose political radicalism was affected by Islamic faith. Karen Bowdre of the IU Department of Communication and Culture will discuss the significance of Spike Lee's films and his role as the cinematic voice of the black community. During the intermission, enjoy local DJ Flufftronix spinning the best in underground hip hop.
