Exporters and Importers are responsible for their own transactions and many fail to meet the legal and financial demands by HMRC. Many organisations only realise they have maintained or kept the wrong records when they have an audit. Often this audit has resulted in a fine. This workshop explains in detail how HMRC work, what paperwork they are looking for during an audit and how exporters and importers can /should maintain their records to meet an audit.

This workshop does not cover IPR or OPR regimes.

Content:

This workshop has been designed to meet British Chambers of Commerce National Trade Training Standards. Delegates will complete an assessment during the workshop; this will be used as credits towards recognised qualifications.

Presenter: Robin Mackay LTI, FInstSMM, MIEx.
Robin is an experienced Director and Senior Manager with over 15 years experience working for a world class textile company with particular responsibility for exports. Business experience has included the successful technology transfer of innovative engineering patents and software from the academic sector to commercial implementation. Robin spent five years as Director of International Trade for the North East Chamber of Commerce and developed a range of products and services to meet the needs of large and small companies.
He has considerable experience in assisting organisations of all sizes develop markets and overcome the issues associated with export procedures and documentation; he brings to his course a wealth of practical solutions.
