For the fifth Bay Area Now 6 public conversation, YBCA presents an afternoon with Adam Werbach, Chief Sustainability Officer of Saatchi & Saatchi, author of the book Strategy for Sustainability, and President of the Sierra Club. Join us in a discussion around his work and a hands-on interactive workshop to help the audience define their personal sustainability goals. Discussion topics will include socio-economic connections to environmental goals, possibilities for individual sustainable practices, and the Bay Area’s role at the forefront of these debates.

“We must not trade our fear of what will come next for our affection for environmentalism.”
–Adam Werbach, environmental activist

Bay Area Now 6: Part I: Ideas
February 19-June 11

This discussion is part of YBCA’s Bay Area Now 6: Part 1: Ideas, YBCA’s signature triennial celebration of local artists, which kicks off with a series of thought-provoking conversations on the rich culture of the Bay Area and its impact on six key areas of innovation: Food, Futurism, Community Activism, Radical Identities, Environmentalism, and Technology. These free, public conversations will feature local luminaries from each field and dialogue with the multi-disciplinary artists selected for the BAN6 showcase. Through September 25, 2011, BAN6 will present a diverse set of performances, films and visual art exhibitions produced by the local artists who have participated in the BAN6 conversations.
