Dancers' Group is pleased to announce the 14th Annual Bay Area Dance Week (BADW), April 20-29, 2012.

Last year over 600 free events were featured during BADW, and this year organizers are hoping to shatter that record! Presented as part of Dancers' Group's 30th Anniversary, BADW will feature the broad variety of events and styles the public has come to expect from this popular festival: classes, performances, open rehearsals, and lecture demonstrations in a wide range of styles including tango, Bharatnatyam, jazz, hip hop, ballet, traditional hula, fire dance, Samba, modern, Chinese classical, belly, aerial, Scottish country, West African, contact improvisation, and many more.

This year's festival opens and closes with two events that exemplify the inclusivity of BADW. On Friday, April 20 at 12noon, the festivities kick off with One Dance, led by Rhythm & Motion, at Union Square. One Dance features dance groups, families, professional companies and students from public and private schools, from a wide array of dance styles - all coming together to perform a short dance from choreography posted on bayareadance.org. Downtown visitors, shoppers, office workers, dancers and non-dancers are invited to join in the dancing fun. Over 2,000 people watched and boogied to a remix version of "The Time of My Life" in Union Square last year.
