Battledecks March 30, 2013

On Saturday, March 30th the Richmond Comedy Coalition brings RVA a new kind of seminar: Battledecks. Battledecks brings 10 speakers together to improvise live presentations based on a deck of slides they have never seen before.

Competitors will be chosen from the Richmond area based on applications. Interested applicants are encouraged to submit now at rvacomedy.com/battledecks. Presentations will be udged based on use of the slides, jargon, gestures, chuckles, and overall presentation synergy.

Seven businesses from the Richmond start-up community have chipped in to provide the first place winner with an iPad Mini, laser etched by local design firm, BIG SECRET. Sponsors also include Era Vintage, Mobelux, New Richmond Ventures, Prophet, Release the Hounds, and Richmond Young Writers.

Battledecks will be held at Balliceaux and cost $5 at the door. Doors open at 7:30pm with the Battle commencing at 8:30pm. Three final competitor’s slots will be filled that night by randomly-selected audience volunteers. Attendees and competitors are encouraged to dress to impress.
