Bassnectar will be returning to Austin for another lesson in womp on Friday, October 10th, 2008 at La Zona Rosa with special guests Beats Antique and Govinda.

UPDATE: Pulling out all the stops as Videolicious joins in the festivities with three projection screens of graphic enlightenment. Andy from STS9 will be handling up on the lighting for the event while Beats Antique and Govinda contribute to the visuals with dancers and art installation. A spectacular swirl of color and imagery to perfectly hug a night of glorious womp!

Since his first performance in the city, Bassnectar has grown from being an underground favorite through shows with Sangre del Sol and DJ Manny at Mercury Hall and the Enchanted Forest to a beacon of culture and sound for the Austin community at large. Every show has been more amazing that the previous as lighting, aerial cameras, and graphic projects help convert a traditional showcase into a full-blown multimedia experience - a rage from the moment the doors open.

This season, Oakland-based electro-acoustic tribe Beats Antique will the circus to deliver an opening set of down-tempo world fusion. Local experimental lounge outfit Govinda will be setting the stage with Austin favorite DJ Manny on visuals.

If you need a little primer before the show, check out Bassnectars new podcast - Underground Transmissions (http://bassnectar.libsyn.com/) or his new track with Freq Nasty, Viva Tibet (http://giveback.net/freqnectar), in support of the March to Tibet action campaign.

Presale tickets are available through GetTix.net or in person at Waterloo Records, University Coop, and Run Tex.
