BRYAN, TEXAS ICE CREAM LOVERS WELCOME NEW BASKIN-ROBBINS STORE TO THE AREA

Local Community Members Open Sweet Store and Support Big Brothers Big Sisters

BRYAN, Texas (January 30, 2009) – Baskin-Robbins, the world’s largest chain of ice cream specialty stores, announces the introduction of its newest store in Bryan, Texas. The new store at 3001 Wildflower Drive is the first new location in Bryan. As a result of Baskin-Robbins franchising and expansion efforts, the ice cream icon is welcoming two new franchisees to the Baskin-Robbins family, local community members Randall and Tara Branham. To celebrate, the Baskin-Robbins at 3001 Wildflower Drive will host a Grand Opening event on Wednesday, February 11 from 5 – 8 p.m. The Branham’s will show their commitment to the community by partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Brazos Valley.

Baskin-Robbins continues to expand across the country with energized franchisees serving as the cornerstones of development. “Passionate and dedicated franchisees are the key components to our brand’s success,” said Ken Kimmel, Baskin-Robbins brand officer. “The Branham’s are enthusiastic, engaging and in touch with their ‘ice cream side’ – all qualities that represent the essence of our brand.”

About the Franchisees

The Branham’s reside in College Station, Texas with their two daughters. The Branham’s joined the Baskin-Robbins franchisee family three months ago and plan to open more locations in the future. The Branham’s are involved in the community and are members of the Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce.

The Branham’s opened the first new ice cream store in town because they wanted to bring the Baskin-Robbins experience back to the Bryan community, where one of the main Baskin-Robbins plants was once located. The Branham’s explain that it is a family business within the community and is a great place to spend time with loved ones. To show their commitment to the community, the Branham’s will be partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Brazos Valley for the store’s Grand Opening event.

Grand Opening Party and Partnership

Baskin-Robbins will celebrate the new store and non-profit partnership with a special Grand Opening celebration on Wednesday, February 11 from 5 – 8 p.m. This festive event will announce the store’s partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Brazos Valley and provide guests with the first look at the new store. The store will help support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Brazos Valley by making a $500 donation to the worthy organization. During the party, customers will enjoy samples of Baskin-Robbins frozen treats and receive fun giveaways. The Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the store’s ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m., and soft serve will be free all day long on February 11.

“I am thrilled to share Baskin-Robbins fun environment with the community,” said Randall Branham, Baskin-Robbins franchisee. “Customers love the look and they thank us every day for bringing the brand to their neighborhood.”

Think Pink - Baskin-Robbins New Look

Baskin-Robbins is opening new stores across the country with a revitalized store concept. America’s favorite neighborhood ice cream shop is contemporizing its brand by combining the original ice cream experience consumers have loved for more than 62 years with a new logo, vibrant interior and exterior design, and innovative atmosphere.

The attention-grabbing store design in Bryan begins on the outside, where the new, contemporary Baskin-Robbins logo, with the iconic “31®” hidden inside, adorns the storefront. The “31” commemorates the company’s founders’, Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins, initial idea to offer 31 ice cream flavors—a different flavor for each day of the month. Inside the store the aroma of waffle cones fills the air and invites customers to enjoy any ice cream treat in the freshly made cones. Baskin-Robbins new store concept is designed to provide consumers with a fun experience filled with uplifting moments and adventures in taste. Customers will enjoy an ice cream dipping cabinet that showcases low windows and a step-up bar, allowing children to get a sneak peak at their favorite Baskin-Robbins ice cream flavors.
