Barron Mineral and Gem Collection August 31, 2009

This exhibit holds the collection of the late Col. E.M. Barron, a former Texas legislator. A 925 carat blue topaz that was found in Mason, Texas is included with this collection. It sat in the Texas Capitol while the legislatrue decided to make blue topaz the state gemstone.
