Bard Recycles - ReLaunching the UNO Reverse Vending Machine November 15, 2011

We moved our UNO reverse vending machine from north campus breezeway to our main campus center, so it's time to have a re LAUNCH PARTY! As we did at last year's successful event, we will ask students to bring their NY nickel deposit bottles and put them in the machine for a chance at a prize. We will hang up the I Recycle t-shirts in the two entryways. We will also have accumulated nickel deposit bottles to give to students passing by so they can try their luck even if they haven't brought a can.
If we win the tailgaiting package, I will find a HS basketball game (that will be hosted at the college) and invite the community to bring all their paper recycling to the college. We'll have halftime mention of American Recycles Day. HS sports draw big crowds from the community so we'll have more participants than the UNO event. Probably 200 families will attend. We'd publicize the recycling component through the local school district via electronic 'kid mail' that goes to the entire district.
