Barbra Streisand was recently named the 2011 MusiCares Person of the Year, honoring not only her artistic achievement in the music industry but also her dedication to philanthropy. Streisand has worked extensively to advocate woman's rights, gender equality and human rights, giving millions of dollars to non-profit organizations all over the world. She is an eight-time Grammy winner, as well as the recipient of the Grammy Legend Award and the Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award. To commemorate Streisand's MusiCares Person of the Year honor and to note her upcoming 50th anniversary in the music industry, the Grammy Museum has unveiled a case dedicated to the singer's longstanding career. The case features the pantsuit Streisand wore onstage at the 22nd Annual Grammy Awards when she and Neil Diamond surprised the audience with a performance of their duet, You Don't Bring Me Flowers. You can also see one of Streisand's earliest signed contracts and a copy of her first recording, Miss Marmelstein in which her name was misspelled on the vinyl.
