On July 30 YBCA will be transformed into a sizzling oasis of visual art, performance, film, music, workshops, cross-disciplinary symposia, food, drink and unfettered access to the 25+ artists featured in our Bay Area Now 6 triennial. Mimosas for early birds, an outdoor AstroTurf beach party for the fashionably late and contemporary art for all, for free.

Highlights Include:
• High Tea I: Part I of this two-part symposium will explore the economics and politics of the medical marijuana industry in the Bay Area and beyond, complete with tea service. Organized by Tony Labat.
• Everyday Light: Chris Fraser will lead a workshop on the quotidian and often-overlooked beauty of the optics and projections present at YBCA and in our daily surroundings.
• Keep on Lovin’ You: A Film That Changed My Life: Most everyone has a film that changed their life. Hopefully for the better, but sometimes for the worse. Today, a variety of local filmmakers, critics and serious buffs will present a film that was, for them, a tipping point. Organized by YBCA’s film/video curator Joel Shepard.
