This weekend, for instance, they're bringing to town an open air ballroom, complete with cabaret, crêpes, boules and even a guillotine at their Bal Enchante - Fete De La Bastille in Platt Fields Park on Saturday.

For this "celebration of all things French, in Manchester", Alliance Française have teamed up with Manchester International Arts and at the heart of the evening will be the British première of Le Petit Theatre de Pain, a 12-piece theatrical cabaret from the Basque country, offering a mix of cabaret, songs, music and special interventions.
