LIVE PERFORMANCE
Steven Michael Werning is a singer/songwriter hailing from the small town of Ripon in California's Central Valley. He gained musical experience playing throughout the Central Valley with the band Fairway, which was nominated two years in a row for a Modesto Area Music Award. Werning now lives in Santa Cruz, where he writes songs by himself with his guitar, banjo and mandolin. Influenced by music that runs the gamut from rock to hip hop to fingerstyle guitar, and trying a little bit to fit some of each into his songs, Steve does his best to make music that feels good to his brains, and hopes sincerely that it feels kind of good to your brains too.

I am a singer, songwriter, performer from the San Francisco Bay Area. I grew up in England and moved to the Oakland- Berkeley East Bay when i was 12 ... Started playing in bands at 15 and am still doing it , performing and recording regularly. My musical tastes vary greatly from 20's and 30's early cabaret jazz tunes to power pop-new wave-punk rock to soundtrack moody torch songs to dark chamber pop to girl group kitsch.

“This first EP from My First Earthquake, entitled Tremors, is totally fun and infectious. The six tracks are adorned with plenty of synth and hip-shaking bass lines, making for a continuous stream of well-executed, straightforward indie pop.”
