Discover the wonderful world of mushrooms and their relatives. Learn about the irreplaceable role that fungi play in our local ecosystem as well as basic identification techniques. The day starts with a brief classroom discussion of types of fungi and how to search them out. Then we will explore known mushroom spots at the Preserve to see specimens up close. This is not a collecting class no mushrooms will be harvested nor will mushroom edibility be discussed (contact the Sonoma Mycological Association if you want to go on a collecting foray).
