Starting in May, the Williamsburg Regional Library unveils a new series of programs under the banner, "Third Thursdays @ Your Library." This series will feature programs on subjects of local interest, including author talks, hobbies, pastimes and other topics. The programs will take place on the third Thursday of every month at the Williamsburg Library, 515 Scotland Street. "Backyard Birds and Birding is the topic of the debut "Third Thursday" program. It begins at 7 p.m., May 18 in the Williamsburg Library Theatre. Bill Williams, Education Director for the Center of Conservation Biology at the College of William and Mary and co-founder of the Williamsburg Bird Club is the presenter. He will tell how to identify and attract birds to your back yard, how to find the best places to bird watch in the Williamsburg area, and how to choose bird watching equipment. A question period will follow and refreshments will be served following the event.
