Bachelorette is the alter ego of Annabel Alpers, multi-instrumentalist and shining star of the New Zealand indie music scene.
Hailing from NZ's remote South Island, she began collecting vintage keyboards at the age of 17, playing psychedelic and noise music in bands while creating computer-generated sound environments at University.
Her extraordinary debut album, Isolation Loops (out on Mistletone Records) is as wondrous and fresh an experience to the listener as a newly discovered galaxy is to an astronomer.
Bachelorette's live presence is striking; a gifted storyteller with an eye for offbeat detail, she deftly switches instruments while harmonising with a choir of clones in a world of kaleidoscopic pop and cosmic folk. She has toured with the likes of Will Oldham, David Kilgour and The Ruby Suns.
