A master of trap drums and hand percussion, Babatunde continues to recieve universal acclaim for his recent recording SUITE UNSEEN: SUMMONER OF THE GHOST, which highlights his multi-rhythmic flow and his tight ensemble featuring saxophonist Richard Howell and poll winning trombonist and conch shell specialist Steve Turre.

From recording and playing with such luminaries as Pharoah Sanders, Leon Thomas, Stan Getz, Joe Henderson, Oscar Brown Jr., Randy Weston, Van Morrison and a host of others, to leading bands with stalwarts such as Hilton Ruiz, Ku-umba Frank Lacy, Geoff Brennan and Ernie Watts, Babatunde Lea remains steeped in the rhythms of the Mother Land of Africa and its Caribbean & South American diaspora.
