18th Street Arts Center presents “ArtNight at 18th Street,” a bi-annual free art and music event, on Saturday, September 27, 6:00-9:00 pm. Special performance by Aztlan Underground, 18th Street Connect (an opportunity to learn about Santa Monica based and greater Los Angeles organizations, (e.g. Chrysalis, Artillery Magazine, Vincent Price Art Museum, Santa Monica Museum of Art), Open Studios (e.g. Lita Albuquerque, YVette Gellis, Luciana Abait, Ichiro Irie, EZTV, Electronic Cafe, Marina Day, Sue-Ching You (Taiwan), James Newitt (Australia), Vedran Perkov (Croatia), Michael Barnard). Artists receptions in our main gallery, War as a Way of Life, project room gallery, Threshold of the Innocents and Martyred by Amitis Motevalli, 2008 Artist Fellow, and a reception in our 1653 building for our Codex workshop conducted by Poli Marichal held at Virginia Avenue Park Teen Center. Free drinks provided by HPNOTIQ & IZZE sparkling juice. ArtNight is made possible (in part) by the City of Santa Monica and the Santa Monica Arts Commission.
