On September 27, from 6:30-8:30PM, the Karabakh Foundation will present Memory of Taste, a film by critically acclaimed Azerbaijani director Shamil Najafzade. The film runs for approximately one hour. This screening is a part of Azerbaijani Thursdays, a series of screenings presented in conjunction with the ongoing exhibit Azerbaijani Artist in Every Sense: Kamil Najafzade (1929-2011). The exhibit will be on display at the Pepco Edison Place Gallery, 701 9th Street, NW, Washington, D.C., from August 28-September 27 and will be open to the public Tuesday-Friday 12noon-4:00PM.

Memory of Taste (52:00) is a two part film that explores the agricultural and culinary traditions of different regions of Azerbaijan, focusing first on Shemekha, Azerbaijan and then Lenkoran-Astara. Recipes, cooking demonstrations, and a history of the regions are featured in the documentary.
