Iowa Piano Competition First Prize Winner Assaff Weismann and Astral Artistic Services' National Auditions Winner Koji Attwood will perform a premiere recital at Yamaha’s midtown Piano Salon on Wednesday, April 18. Their recital program will include:

 Johannes Brahms: Variations on a Theme by Haydn, Op. 56b
 Nikolai Medtner: "Knight Errant", Op. 58, #2
 W.A. Mozart: Sonata in D major, K. 448 (375a)

Koji Attwood, a native of Kansas, is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, has a Master of Music degree from the Juilliard School and recently earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Juilliard under Jerome Lowenthal. Mr. Attwood made his solo debut at the age of ten and one year later won second prize at the young Keyboard Artists Association International Competition. He was the featured artist on yamahamusicsoft.com's New York City Rising Star Series in May of 2003 and an honorary mention award winner of the Seventh International Web Concert Hall Competition. Mr. Attwood appears regularly on the "World of the Piano" series at Juilliard and is frequently heard on "Reflections From the Keyboard: the Pianist in Comparative Performance" weekly radio show on New York's WQXR station.

Assaff Weismann is a graduate of the Juilliard School where he is now a member of the Evening Division piano faculty. His performances have taken him to some of the major venues in Europe, the Middle East and the Americas. Recent highlights include appearances at the Millennium Piano Festival in Spain, the Rudolfinum in Prague as well as in Edinburgh and at the Music Festival of the Hamptons in the United States. In 2002, Mr. Weismann released an all Schubert recording for yamahamusicsoft.com’s NYC Rising Star series, which became one of its best sellers. His radio credits include WQXR's "Young Artist Showcase", "The Voice of Music" in Israel as well as multiple appearances on WGBH radio in Boston. He is the youngest person to appear on that station, making his debut at the age of 12.
