An American Opera: The Greatest Pet Rescue Ever! (not rated) is a multi-award winning documentary film chronicling what happened during Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans when pet owners were forced to evacuate without their pets. This moving and important film was the winner of the 'Best Documentary' prize at several major film festivals. This special event will also include a discussion of the film and its subject matter led by Tom McPhee -- director, narrator, and producer of the film.

An American Opera follows the pets, vets, owners, officials, rescuers, and adopters of animals during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, as they try to remedy the situation, revealing that not everyone had the same goal of saving animals.
