The Brookline Arts Center is excited to exhibit "Autumn Ceramics," Ceramics by Katherine Younger from October 11 through November 10.

Younger’s work is combines rigorously modern abstract shapes with the organic and accidental colors that result from Saggar and Raku firing techniques. The resulting works bring together the esthetics of mid-century modernism with a Japanese-inspired love of accident and irregularity.

Younger left a background in biology and teaching to study writing and art, where her projects have been inspired by her travels in Europe, Asia and the West Coast. Younger first studied ceramics at the New Art Center in Newton and has continued at the ceramics program at Harvard.

Regular exhibition hours from October 11 to November 10, are Mondays-Fridays, 9am-4:30pm. Admission is free.
