Donors Forum is pleased to present the second event in its Author Series--A Conversation with Jeanne Gang. Doors open at 5 - 5:30 pm on February 6, 2012, for a networking and hors d'oeuvres; following the presentation, there will be time for questions.

Renowned architect and MacArthur Fellow Jeanne Gang thinks big. Having already brought award-winning buildings -- such as the "Aqua" skyscraper -- to Chicago, Gang has set her sights on redesigning the Chicago River.

Ms. Gang's new book, Reverse Effect: Renewing Chicago's Waterway, encourages architects, designers, policymakers, advocates, and community members to re-imagine and reshape the future of the Chicago River. In this conversation, Ms. Gang will discuss her book and her vision for the future of the Chicago waterway, as well as some of her other work on "green" and sustainable design.

MacAurthur Fellow Jeanne leads Studio Gang Architects, a Chicago-based collective of architects, designers, and thinkers whose projects address pressing current issues. Known for pursuing a future where nature and the city interweave, Gang’s work has been honored and exhibited widely, most notably at the International Venice Biennale, MoMA, and the Art Institute of Chicago. A distinguished graduate of the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, she has taught at Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and IIT, where her studios have focused on cities, ecologies, materials, and technologies.
