School District U46, Gail Borden, Bartlett and Poplar Creek Public libraries have pooled ideas and resources to host the first 2006 Author Festival on October 18 and 19. Three nationally recognized authors including National Book Award winner Pete Hautman, Michael L. Printz Honoree Terry Trueman, and Newbery Honors Award winner Suzanne Fisher Staples will visit numerous locations throughout U46 schools and local libraries.
On Wednesday, October 18 from 7 – 8 p.m. the Gail Borden Public Library will host Terry Trueman traveling in from Spokane, Washington, who authored Stuck in Neutral, a 2001 Michael L. Printz Honor book. He also wrote Inside Out, Cruise Control, Swallowing the Sun and No Right Turn.
