Australian Geographic Lecture: Everest - 25 years on November 9, 2009

Many have dreamed of reaching the heights of Everest but only the most tenacious have succeeded. On 3 October 1984, in almost complete darkness, adventurers Greg Mortimer and Tim Macartney-Snape became the first two Australians to reach the summit of Mt Everest.

Join Peter Wells for an evening with Greg Mortimer as they discuss the preparation, hardships and the triumphs associated with climbing the world’s tallest mountain in Everest – 25 years on.

In 2010 Peter Wells will attempt to summit Mount Everest along with a crew of Australians.
