ACHACHAY! HANDY ESCAPE COACH WEST COAST TOUR HITS PORTLAND
Funk rock band performs to support their new EP and raise money

Portland, OR-- August 30th, 2010 Austin-based funk/rock trio Achachay! is hitting the road to support their forthcoming EP: Handy Escape Coach. Embarking on their fourth national tour in just under two years since the band's inception, Achachay! is excited to return to the west coast and looking forward to playing some awesome shows.

The band describe themselves as: “the brain- child of three hyperfunkadelicsuperbadslappin’ dudes from Austin, TX. They seek to bring the groove to you and yours’ booties on the dance floor. If Achachay! was pulled over by the police, they would charge them with ‘possesion of funk and the intent to distribute’.”

The band's latest EP features five new songs ranging from fast and funky to mellow and melodious, all the while tastefully featuring the band’s vocal harmonies and instrumental prowess. Drawing from influences in rock, funk, hip-hop, and reggae, Handy Escape Coach aims to aurally please a wide-range of listeners.

The free show on August 30th at the Ash Street Saloon is part of a seven week tour that will find the band playing shows across west-Texas, Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, and Colorado. Along with supporting their new EP, the band will be selling merchandise including sun-glasses and sports towels featuring the Achachay! name in order to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Achachay! will be performing as a part of an open-mic night starting at 10pm. The show will be free and open to the public.
