So here's the deal.

Me (Anthony Cole) and Sam (Bauers) are organising WordCamp Australia, and we thought it might be nice to have a little meetup beforehand just to get to know a few people in the local community.

If you're interested, we're holding it at the Bavarian Bier Cafe next Thursday from 5PM to 8PM.

Feel free to come, no matter how much experience you have. It does not matter at all If you're interested in the platform or you're a seasoned developer. Drop by, we'd love to have you.

We might have WordPress schwag (t-shirts and stickers), and the general rule of these things is to BYO laptops, stickers, business cards, etcetera.

If you've got any questions, drop me a line of anthony.c.cole *at* gmail [dot] com, and I look forward to meeting you all.

UPDATE: note the location change. I didn't realise that there was a location on York, so there we go. See you all there. Getting there is pretty straightforward. If I've figured it out right, the closest stations are probably town hall or central and from there it should be easy.

Don't you think holding an event outside of the CBD right on peak hour is poor planning?

It's a pretty awful location to get to.

Good luck with numbers.

P.S. There are a few Bavarian bier cafes in the CBD these days. If you really want people to turn up, I'd consider switching venues.

It's just a casual meet-up and frankly unless you name *some place* at *some time* it just never happens.

People can feel free to turn up anytime after 5:30pm, we'll most likely be there for two or three hours.

Changed it to the CBD on York. Enjoy.

Much better location. Easier to get home.

Am Coming.

Thanks to Maya at Automattic we now have a limited number of special WordPress treats for the first few people who sign up and subsequently show up.

We also have a ton of stickers and badges for anyone who shows up.

I wish we had tattoos, but no such luck.
