Cuba Afro-Rock Revoluxion
X Alfonso (Equis) is one of Cuba's most exciting young artists and, by Havana standards, he's a superstar. His music, a mix of hip hop, rumba, funk and rock, is an excellent indication of what Afro-Cuban fusion has come to mean. Cuba Afro Rock Revoluxion is a musical multi-media exploration of this unique Afro-Cuban blend and its influence on contemporary Cuban culture. Opening the concert is Osamu, widely recognized as one of Havana's leading rockeros with his hit songs "Chaca-Chaca en la Azotea" and "La Candela,” incorporating a delicious mix of blues, alternative rock, nueva trova and timba. Osamu will be joined by guest artist the legendary singer Pedrito Calvo, formerly of Los Van Van.
