COMEDIC 'OWL AND PUSSYCAT' OPENS FEB. 23
Actors' Theater puts a new twist on a classic comedy

WASHINGTON -- The Actors' Theatre of Washington (ATW) will offer a hilarious new twist on the classic stage and screen comedy "The Owl and the Pussycat." The show opens Feb. 23 at the Source Theater.

WHO: ATW presents Bill Manhoff's "The Owl and the Pussycat." Directed by new ATW Managing Director and Helen Hayes Award winner Lee Mikeska Gardner; Starring Helen Hayes Award winner Rick Hammerly as the brainy Owl and ATW Artistic Director Jeffrey Johnson as the high-heeled, hot-tempered Pussycat.

WHAT: Take a trip to 1960s San Francisco with Felix (the Owl), a wannabe intellectual author, and Doris (the Pussycat), a wannabe actress and model who pays the bills by entertaining gentleman callers. After spotting the traffic at her apartment through his binoculars, Felix informs the landlord and Doris gets the boot. But the conniving feline gets revenge by imposing on Owl for a bed. A battle of wits, words and wisdom ensues.

WHEN: Feb. 23-March 25. Thursday through Saturday shows start at 8 p.m. and Sunday shows start at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
