How important is the essay component to the college admissions process? This workshop, led by a retired English teacher and private writing coach, will cover this and many related questions, including:
• What are the readers looking for?
• What do the best essay examples have in common?
• How to begin?
• What to include and what to omit?
• What structure should the essay follow?
• Should the writing be creative or businesslike?
• Should the tone be formal or casual?
• How to conclude?
The instructor will give writing tips and worksheets along with actual examples of essays written by students who were accepted into their first-choice schools. Bring paper and pencil and get ready to write!
