***FROM SMOTHER MAGAZINE November 2005***..........'Jersey City rock-n-roll kids Atomic Violet are set to take the Garden State and beyond by storm with their enigmatic self-released debut album. Despite their rather young age (they formed only a year ago), they boast a mature sound. Often when you think they?re going to kick it in high gear, they hold off. The result is an interesting compilation of crafty songwriting and clever rockin?.............Congratulations guys and gals you have my full attention.'

AtomicViolet

You can always count on the Garden State to deliver quality rock and roll and Atomic Violet is another fine example of the good soil in Jersey. ?Rock Widow? is the bands first album but they write like veterans, delivering rock and roll with strong lyrics that feels...important.

While not every band believes in showing their hand at the beginning of the album Atomic Violet wisely does. The rockin? ?Less Than Perfect? kicks of the album in a grand way. The rhythm section really lays it down and the aggressive fuzzy guitars and clean vocal remind me a bit of when Veruca Salt was good. The title track is another excellent song, a bit beefier sounding than some of the others it sucks you in with its nice groove. Although ?Carry On? is probably the obligatory ballad, it?s easy to swallow from these guys as they sound as at home in an acoustic setting as they do when they are bringing the rock.
